As remarkable as a storied creature from mythology, the luxury rental property known as Villa Blue Dragon has a way of defying expectations. While many guests who choose to book a vacation home expect to compromise on certain specifics, Villa Blue Dragon is designed to suit those who care about every detail – the owners hired local interior designer Elisa Bally, who did a marvelous job of seeing to that.

The scope of the space is impressive (and well suited to big groups who want to share certain moments but also retreat to utter privacy), but the effect is only magnified once you take in the layering of luxury.Nature plays a starring role as well, as Bally’s guiding principle was to integrate the outdoors and indoors. She took inspiration from the environment and elements around the house—the sandy beach, the turquoise Caribbean sea, the rocks and trees around—and worked with them to create something magical.

All the materials are light and airy, ensuring a seamless transition with the surrounding landscape.Villa Blue Dragon is one of the highest villas in Gouverneur, with better sea views than many homes on the island of St. Barth have, but still a quick jaunt down the hill to the beach. It’s also just minutes from the shops and restaurants of Gustavia. That said, it’s awfully tempting to stay put and take in the spectacular views from above. You can see the sea from every room in Blue Dragon.
