The Nocciolo, ...an unusual plant for the Tuscan land, but it is the fruit tree that characterises this property. Villa Noccioleto is located in the province of Pisa, in the municipality of Montecatini Val Di Cecina, on the sea side of the medieval village of Castello di Querceto.
Villa Noccioleto dominates from above the land of which it is part, some 45 hectares with a large area given over to the cultivation of hazelnut trees, whose fruit, the hazelnut, has become the farmhouse’s symbol.
The location is on the top of the hill, with southern exposure and a view that sweeps from Querceto Castle to the characteristic village of La Sassa, small communities that characterise these areas on the border between the Val di Cecina and Val di Cornia.
The view is the most powerful feature of this farmhouse. There is a large arbour with table and chairs conveniently located near the BBQ with wood-burning oven. A gentle path leads down to the infinity pool (10 x 5 meters, depth 140 cm) overlooking the valley, fenced off for the safety of the little ones. Next to the pool, a small room has been provided with fitness equipment. A charming little terrace with sofas and seating arranged around a convivial brazier completes the outdoor picture.
The sea is only about 20 kilometres away, giving the area a mild climate and a gentle breeze even on the hottest summer days. The renovation was completed in 2023, attempting to embrace the typicality and materials of Tuscany where stone, travertine, terracotta floors and vaulted ceilings are the masters, with more modern necessities such as full coverage wifi, a shower with chromotherapy, a small fitness room… small details that will perhaps make the stay more pleasant for guests who decide to spend their holidays in this land.
