A sprinkle of turquoise and various shades of blue touch every room, first greeted in the entrance hall by a large blue circular light shade, raising your eye to the stained glass mantel above the three doors. The first door to your left opens into the large bathroom, with a cream stone bath/shower, and Victorian-style WC. Opposite the bathroom, to the right as you enter, is the first (blue) bedroom, with a four poster bed fitted with a mosquito net (the air conditioning will keep them at bay!) and windows that opens out to the front veranda. The entrance hall leads you to the open plan dining and living space, split by a pathway painted in the signature turquoise and ventilated by the open courtyard. The dining area houses a dining table – to seat six – and bureau; the lounge area comes equipped with a super comfy Javanese sofa and turquoise arm chair, perfectly positioned to enjoy digital television or one of the many DVDs stored in the cream wooden bookcase. A small wooden door opens into the two bedded built in bunk room for those with little folk - or study (for those without), with vintage leather topped desk sitting in prime WIFI position beneath the shuttered window overlooking the pond and courtyard. Situated in the middle of the courtyard, surrounded by various antiques from both Indonesia and Sri Lanka, is an ornamental pond with tropical fish to keep the mosquitoes in check. Large wooden doors at the end of the pond open out into a stone tiled garden adorned with tropical plants and flowers. Leading off from the inner courtyard is the beautiful cream stone kitchen, tailor made for whipping up culinary delights, accented with a white butler sink and antique sideboard. Wooden doors open out to the solid concrete table with wooden benches and Union Jack cushions, sheltered from above creating an outside living space along the back length of the house that extends out to the garden.   Steps to the left of the garden lead up to the blue stoned roof terrace, blessed with a sea view overlooking the ramparts, and a glimpse of the Fort's picturesque lighthouse. A marble-topped breakfast table and turquoise retro chairs sit under a tiled ambalama providing the ultimate morning coffee and people watching spot. For those who indulge in a bit of sun worship, there are also sun loungers screened by large plant pots... in turquoise! The master suite can be accessed from both the roof terrace or pond entrance, split over two floors with the sunken stone bath/shower downstairs, and the shabby-chic bedroom upstairs, connected by a wooden blue staircase. The master homes a sleigh bed under a shutter window looking out onto the terrace and the ramparts beyond. Two sets of wooden double doors lead onto the quaint sheltered wooden balcony overlooking the pond courtyard and leading directly to the roof terrace. Two further shutter windows allow natural light to flood this charming abode with light. A master through pure beauty! If you manage to leave 79, you will leave it feeling honoured at the pleasure of being welcomed into this home from home ,in the heart of Galle Fort.
