Petalida is set within a garden designed and laid down in 2008 by Philippe Niez an eminent French gardener. The challenge was to create a Mediterranean garden of some significance and of interest to guests, which in time, will entirely engulf the built environment and contribute to Petalida being perceived as an island sanctuary. With Philippe’s knowledge of Mediterranean plants and understanding of design, we are creating a garden of harmonious colours, rich textures and relaxing smells, a garden of interest throughout the seasons.

Once you enter the main gate you find yourself walking amidst cypresses and olive trees, colourful wildflowers and lush shrubs, seduced by the scent of aromatic herbs. The villas are surrounded by uncovered stone fences that enclose flowerbeds creating a blissfully serene atmosphere. The tranquillity of Petalida will invite you to leave your worries behind and relax under the Greek sunshine.

The peninsula where Petalida is located has been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is one of the most tranquil spots on the island and unveils the true beauty of Antiparos original landscapes. It has many small coves, which are all within easy walking distance and suitable for swimming. There are two small beaches just below Petalida that are accessible through a private path.

The main village, also called Antiparos, is a 15 minute drive away. Antiparos is known for its simplicity, natural beauty, isolated beaches, safety and understatement. As an international destination it is extremely popular as a discrete family retreat. Antiparos is easily reached from Athens and Mykonos. It takes about 30 minutes from Athens by small plane, 45 minutes by helicopter and about three hours by fast ferry. From Mykonos, 15 mins by helicopter and 40 mins by fast ferry.

Care has been taken to balance the power of the stunning outdoor landscape with the inner environment, played out in the soothing natural colours and raw materials used throughout the home. The design is classic and elegant where comfortable furnishings are accented with chic details. The villas are made for both indoor and outdoor living, surrounded by various inviting pergola-shaded lounges and dining spaces that enjoy different views of the landscape.
